It is recommended that 4 titles of the same level of complexity be read before increasing to the next level. 5 short meaningful texts, rather than 5 pages of a novel is suggested.
A proficient reader leads each session. A proficient reader is an individual who is able to read in a phrased and fluent way, with appropriate pace, pitch, stress, intonation and expression. A teacher, teacher-aide, parent helper and older students could all be reading leaders.
